Philip Loyd
The Rt Rev Philip Henry Loyd (8 July 1884 - 11 January 1952) was an eminent Anglican Bishop and author,〔Amongst others he wrote "The Way according to S. Mark", 1935; "By Faith with Thanksgiving", 1936; "The Life according to St John", 1936; "The Treasures of the Heart of Jesus", 1938; "Doers of the Word", 1939;and "Teach Me Thy Statutes", 1941 > British Library web site accessed 18:48GMT Monday 27 July 2009〕 in the second quarter of the 20th century. He was educated at Eton and King's College, Cambridge 〔“Who was Who” 1897-2007 London, A & C Black, 2007 ISBN 978-0-19-954087-7〕 and ordained in 1911.〔"The Clergy List" London, Kelly’s, 1913〕 His first post was as a Curate at St Mary of Eton, Hackney Wick〔(Church web site )〕 after which he was Vice-Principal of Ripon College Cuddesdon.
